What is conversational copywriting?

Conversational copywriting is exactly what it sounds like. It’s copywriting, yes.

But when you read it, you feel like some guy down the pub is telling you what they do.

Let’s call him Bob.

Bob isn’t sleazy or “salesy”.

You want to keep chatting to Bob.

Without being pushed or forced, you follow Bob’s Instagram.

One day, Bob decides to start selling vegan shower gel on Instagram.

You don’t need any. You say, “no thanks, not now.”

Then a few months down the line, you’ve gone vegan and ran out of shower gel.

There’s lots of vegan shower gels these days.

But Bob made an impression on you. He’s the first to pop into your mind.

When he posts on Instagram, he sounds just the same as he did down the pub.

You feel like you know him, even though you’ve only met him once.

This is the epitome of a meaningful connection.

As customers, it’s refreshing to come across brands with this sort of vibe.

After all, who would you rather be to your customers?

That annoying beach stall owner who pulls you into their store to look at keyrings?

Or the person everyone wants to go for a cocktail with?
